the return of MIKE VERA
so the HILL STREET BLUES 7" is taking forever, but it just took a big step in the right direction yesterday, so it'll be in our hands pretty soon. BEN HENRY will also have some, as well as various dudes in other bands around town that have asked us for some copies for tours and what not. if you live far away, soon enough you will be able to order the record, as well. probably from ben. in other news, MIKE VERA will return to boston for a week at the end of february to get us 7 more songs recorded for a release later this year. some of the ones we are recording are the ones you guys have all asked, "when are you recording that?" and the answer is in two weeks. we just have to destroy one more burrito place in keene, NH before we can sow that seed, but that show will be wildly fun, i assume, as shows in keene usually are. anyway, RONIN just came on, so i'm outta here.

the REAL "Hill Street Blues"
Go to the music section of this website and you will be linked to our BRAND NEW record entitled "Hill Street Blues," because we wrote these songs when Steev and I lived on Hill Street in Dover, NH. It's fucking awesome. Recorded by the masterful Mike Vera, mastered by the beautiful Nick Zampiello, artwork by the unbelievable John McCarthy and vinyl (soon to be) pressed by the incredible Ben Henry of What We Talk About When We Talk About Records. Check this shit out, because soon we will be playing it near your house and you will be there (hopefully) singing all the words that you know because you've been brushing up. Also: if you think I'm sexy and you want my body, come on, sugar, let me know.

Hill Street Blues
So the other night (Great Scott for the John McCarthy Memorial Show) was a blast. Best time I've had playing in quite some time, for real. And all those picklebacks we drank, jesus. It's four days later and my stomach is still sour. Let's do that again sometime really soon, guys!
In other news, What We Talk About When We Talk About Records has been gracious enough to decide to press our first 7" entitled "Hill Street Blues." The man behind the iron mask is Benjamin Splain Henry, a golden god among mere mortal men, yet so modest and kind and blessed. John McCarthy is doing the artwork again, so expect everything to be in the illest of conditions when the shit hits the hand. Come see us play on December 19 at Great Scott (again) in Allston, MA with our friends (and dope bands) lunglust and Moons! To The Wolves is also playing, so it should be a pretty righteous time, if I do say so myself. Alright, alright! Nuff said.

Pumpkin Festival, Keene NH
Tomorrow is the 20th annual Pumpkin Festival in Keene, NH. There's music, pie eating contests, and, of course, thousands of jack-o-lanterns. Tens of thousands, actually. It's incredibly awesome. Later on in the evening, down the street at Teckneeks Skateshop, Luau will be playing a show with Black Norse. Pumpkins, pie, rock and roll, what more could you ask for?

"Bad News Hotel" available from Bandcamp.com
Just a quick update to let everyone who's been asking for a way to listen to our pathetically obsolete cassette tape on their fancy new millennium digital music machines, you now can. The entire "Bad News Hotel" cassette, including the live tracks, is now available from bandcamp.com, on any digital format you can think of, for the cost of a ride on the T. Or download the songs a la carte for less than a buck each.
So next time someone wants you to ride the train to JP to go to a party, tell 'em to fuck off, and spend your fare on this instead. Or don't.

Rock and Roll Machine
We played in JP last night...for five minutes... apparently the Boston PD does not dig Luau. Earlier in the day we finished tracking three new songs at New Alliance in Cambridge with Mike Vera. Today we mixed them; we're very psyched on the results. Keep your ears peeled for songs available digitally and on self released vinyl as we get closer to cool weather and falling leaves.
We've been having a blast playing a lot lately and would like to keep the ball rolling in September and October. Do get in touch if you have something cooking you'd like to get us involved in, particularly if its outside of Boston! And come rock out with some of favorite band buddies Sunday, August 22nd in Somerville at the Steven Tyler Memorial Pool. There isn't actually a pool there, but there is a very amazing portrait of Steven Tyler, and for one evening there will also be Luau, The Big Big Bucks, Four Eyes, and Colleen Green.
Also, someone, for the love of god, please give Jake a job. All he does is sleep on the couch and whine about how hungry he is, and its getting really annoying. I'm starting to suspect he's been eating the cat food.

Cassette
We don't have a van anymore, but we do have some shows in Lowell (with the Bucks and Bar Sinister) and Somerville (to celebrate Jesuscentric's first LP) coming up, as well as a weekend with The Big Big Bucks at the end of February (details TBA) that we are particularly psyched on.
We are going to have cassettes for sale (way cheap), hopefully in time for the show at PA's. They will feature all the songs from our sessions last year with Jack Younger, as well as 3 songs from our live set last year on the Fallout Shelter. Get pumped (if you want to).

Direct download! Van!
Hey guys and gals! Did you know you can now download "New Year's Resolution" and "Home Alone" directly from this site? I bet you didn't! We're gonna expand on this soon with some more live and demo stuff...maybe more mastered stuff. Keep your eyes and/or ears peeled.
In other news, we recently bought a van, which means that you should book us in your city. We will actually be able to bring all of our bodies and equipment there to rock with zero compromises, in an ever expanding radius of rock.
Party on.

Awesome show in Dover NH last night!
Thanks to everyone who came out to the show in Dover, NH last night! All the bands slayed! Special thanks to the HUGE turnout of Boston people. You guys know what's up for sure!
We're playing in Portsmouth next weekend with Furnace and Late Nite Wars...maybe you guys want to check that out too? If you're too lazy to cruise up to NH again, you can always swing by Wadzilla August 28th and check us out there...similar lineup to last night but with a Bravo Fucking Bravo set. I, personally, am pretty pumped for it!
Also, if you haven't caught it yet, you can download / stream the newly mastered mp3 of "New Year's Resolution" at myspace and last fm. Overall, very pleased at how it came out! We have 2 other songs ("Constrictor" and "Bad News Hotel") that we recorded in the same sessions that should become available in some format eventually...pretty much an issue of money and/or lack of a label to work with at this point. So if you have a few hundred bucks and want to press a few hundred 7"s...let us know! Ha!
Thanks again to everyone whose come out to the last few shows. We're not about to slow down now, so keep your eyes peeled and your ears open or you might miss something. Rock on!
